Conveniently located minutes from I-65, Point Mallard Park is one of Decatur’s main tourist attractions. Entertainment seekers come from near and far to enjoy Point Mallard’s many leisure activities. The park provides facilities for numerous outdoor sports as well as many other recreational activities, and also contains a campground which is open year round.
The Point Mallard Campground offers 217 shaded sites, all with hookups for water and electric. Each site comes with wi-fi connectivity, a private picnic table and charcoal grill. The campground can accommodate groups of any size, and visitors to the campground will find plenty to keep them occupied in the rest of the park.
Visitors to the park will find a wide variety of recreational activities available. Many of these, including the championship golf course, ice skating arena, tennis courts, and hiking/biking trail are open year round. Other facilities include the Strike Zone Driving Range and Batting Cages. The Point Mallard Water Park, which contains the first wave pool built in the United States, is especially popular during the hot summer months.
