Inspections & Permits

Food Truck Inspections

Beginning January 1, 2025, per Alabama state fire code, IFC 2021 319.10.3, the requirement for a pressure test on the LP gas system, including the fuel gas piping system, will be required as part of a food truck inspection.

The Code of Ordinances | Decatur, AL | Municode Library governs food truck operations within city limits. This ordinance requires that vendors have an annual inspection before receiving a business license.

An inspection checklist is available for review. The following documentation is required at inspection:

  1. Morgan County Health Department permit
  2. Documentation of LP gas system inspection (if applicable)
  3. FMAA inspection number/documentation (if applicable)

Inspections are by appointment only, Monday through Friday, 8AM–3PM. To schedule an inspection, call 256-341-4860 or 256-341-4856. If there is no answer, feel free to leave a message or contact our Administrative offices at 256-341-4863
