Decatur is not just a city to me, it’s my home. I’ve lived here, raised a family, and built a business that has supported this community for nearly thirty years. Now, I’m honored to serve as your mayor — to unite our city, rebuild trust, and move forward with purpose.
The past few years have tested us, but Decatur is more resilient than any challenge. We’re ready to work together and make this city the best it can be by listening, planning, and following through.
Our goal is to create a thriving, safe, and expanding city where residents trust their government and take pride in their community. This vision is based on three main priorities: ensuring public safety, building trust in city government, and promoting smart growth.
Decatur has always been a city rooted in connection, from our riverfront and historic neighborhoods to our schools, parks, and places of worship. We already possess strong schools, youth sports, arts, and civic programs that enrich our daily lives. These are worth protecting, improving, and expanding so every family can enjoy the quality of life that defines this city.
We’ll recruit and keep good jobs, strengthen infrastructure, support our schools, and keep neighborhoods clean and safe. We’ll also invest in the men and women who serve as police officers and firefighters, ensuring they have the tools to protect us all.
Working with the City Council, local leaders, and you — the citizens of Decatur — we will foster a spirit of respect and collaboration within City Hall. My door will remain open because government functions most effectively when people work together.
Decatur’s next chapter focuses on unity, pride, and progress. Together, we can honor our history while building an even brighter future.
