Department Functions / Responsibilities

The City of Decatur’s Communications Manager plans and leads the City’s communications across all platforms. This role oversees strategic messaging, public and media relations, visual content, and digital communications, including the City website and social media channels.

The Communications Manager also serves as the City’s primary point of contact for internal and external communications, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and easy for the public to understand.
