Rock the South Still Coming to Decatur, New Dates Announced

Jun 9, 2026

Rock the South is still coming to Decatur.

Festival organizers announced Tuesday that Rock the South has been rescheduled for October 1-4, 2026, following significant rainfall across Alabama and at the festival site in Decatur.

Shane Quick, owner of Peachtree Entertainment, and Decatur Mayor Kent Lawrence shared the announcement during a news conference at Decatur City Hall.

According to festival organizers, unprecedented rainfall over the past week created conditions that would make it difficult to deliver the experience attendees, artists, vendors, and organizers expect from one of the Southeast’s largest music festivals.

“The monumental amount of rain that has fallen at the event site gives us no choice but to postpone the festival,” Quick explained in a statement. “We are thankful that the headliners are available for the new dates, and appreciate the patience and support of all involved as we look to put on a great Rock the South later this year.”

Mayor Lawrence said the City of Decatur supports the decision and looks forward to welcoming festivalgoers this fall.

“Sometimes the right decision is not the easiest decision, but it is still the right decision,” Lawrence said. “Rock the South is still coming to Decatur.”

What Fans Need to Know

Festival organizers announced that all three previously announced headliners will remain on the lineup:

  • Zach Top: Thursday, October 1
  • Jason Aldean: Friday, October 2
  • Riley Green: Sunday, October 4

In addition, the festival will expand to four days and feature a headlining performance by Jessie Murph on Saturday, October 3, at no additional cost to ticket holders.

Most scheduled artists are expected to perform on the revised dates, with an updated daily lineup to be announced in the coming weeks.

Festival organizers also confirmed that all tickets and camping packages purchased for the original dates will be honored during the rescheduled festival weekend.

Additional information regarding ticket options for those unable to attend in October will be provided directly to ticket holders via email next week.

“The safety of our festival attendees, artists, and staff is paramount, and we’re confident that the rescheduled dates will ensure an enjoyable festival experience for all,” Quick said.

City departments, public safety agencies, community partners, and Peachtree Entertainment have spent months preparing for the festival. Those efforts will continue as planning shifts toward the new October dates.
